Samus holds her cannon steady, but he's not dead. Which is good. He also doesn't appear to be fighting back. This makes it much easier for Samus. Her arm falls just slightly, so it's no longer pointed at his face.

Her voice is muffled and maybe a little bit distorted, so there's not much indication to her sex currently.
